The Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers ably led by the Chairman,HRM Eze Sam Agunwa Ohiri, have collectively and unanimously condemned the recent political attack and leadership face-off between the immediate past Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha and the present Imo state Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha.
The Traditional Rulers jointly made the above statement during a press briefing at the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers Palace along MbariStreet Owerri.
They spoke through the three Zonal Representatives from the three senatorial zones.
The Representatives,in their respective words:HRH Eze Geoffrey Ejimogu,of Owerri West in Owerri Zone, HRH Eze Godwin Okeke,of Okigwe Zone,and HRH Eze Caesar Ugochukwu Duruegbuso,commended Gov.Ihedioha for intelligence on the manner in which he is bearing with Sen.Rochas Okorocha’s recent words of war.
They more so, condemned the faceoff and attack on the Governor by Senator Rochas,but however called on Okorocha to allow Governor Ihedioha to rule the State as the Governor.
The three Monarchs therefore extolled the Rebuild Mission Recovery Team, and called on Okorocha and all his supporters who are in possession of all the govt.property to return them to the State Government of Ihedioha.
However, the Deputy Chairman, Council of Ndi-Eze Imo,HRM Barr.Chijioke Okwara,Eshi of Nkwere,in Orlu Zone,expressed dissatisfaction over what he described as immaterial and uncalled for.
The Traditional Rulers said “we have unanimously advised Rochas to allow Governor Ihedioha to be. He should peace to reign. He can go to court to seek redress of any kind. Imo State is nobody’s private company or business. We are now calling for a lasting peace in the State as Traditional Rulers. Rochas should desist from treading the lane of whatsoever that would rubbish the state”.
” Their faceoff, We are completely condemning in it. Nobody should hit up the system. During
Okorocha’s tenure as Governor ,he can not tolerate that during his tenure. He should stop instigating troubles everywhere”.
Ihedioha is the the Governor of Imo State, Rochas 8 years tenure are gone. Recovering of illegally acquired govt. property is the right thing to do for the general interest of Imo State. Rochas should stop instigating trouble in the Imo. He has served the state, he should stop causing confusion.

“The Nigerian Police Force, and the Nigerian Prison Services,should as a matter of fact return those buildings to Imo State. We need our money back. The truth must said. Haba!!! A former govt.who did not pay workers salaries and pension arrears,who refused to even pay Traditional Rulers salaries. Our Internally Generated Revenue,IGR, is almost zero. Were those buildings debated and captured by the Imo House of Assembly? How a State give any thing freely to the Federal Govt. It is not normal. The Federal Govt.is suppose to give to the State.
Our common wealth must be self guided. Rochas should play by the rules of the land. Rochas should conduct himself. You (Rochas) is suppose to join Gov.Emeka Ihedioha in his leadership bid towards Rebuilding Imo”,Eze Ohiri submitted.
Eze Ohiri, therefore charged all the Traditional Rulers in Imo State to please stay clear on the Recovery Team movement,and always encourage them to do the needful.
