The Imo State Governorship Candidate of the “Action Democratic Party, ADP, for the 2019 elections, Barrister Obioma Success Akagburuonye, has officially unveiled his manifesto of 11 points -agenda which anchored on the restoration of Imo State, if elected as Governor, come March 2nd 2019.
Barrister Akagbhmburuonye in an interaction with Journalists on Thursday, Feb. 7th 2019 at the Imo NUJ complex along Owerri/Port Harcourt, expressed optimism that his government. if elected as Governor Rochas Okorocha’s successor would surely restore the state to her lost glory.
The legal luminary also expressed satisfaction that he would win election as Governor by Imo people following what he described as failure of the state to elect good individuals.
“My first plan when elected as Governor is to restore the presence of God in the state. I love the people of Imo and that I have come to rule them, so that the masses would benefit from the dividends of good governance. I am a Christian, I hate greed, I love God. I will bring back the presence of Almighty God. I am going to build Restoration Chapels in each of the Community in the state for all and sundry to constantly worship/praise the name of God at least last Friday of the month. I really know that power belongs to God. I am also going to establish accountability and transparency, when given the opportunity to serve Imolites as God”, Barrister Success stated.
Part of his 11 points agendas listed includes: 1. Application of God’s presence in his all-inclusive govt.in the state.2.Prompt payment of Workers’ salaries /Pensions arrears ( to pay Minimum wage of N30,000 to civil servants and N20,000 to pensioners in the state monthly). 3. Agro-Economy, where he said the his government shall engage cooperative society and usher in the use of mechanized farming system. Revamping of all the industries in the state, to establish at least an industry in each of the Local Government Area for job creation. 4.Education, shall witness Technical/Conventional Education for job creation,self empowerment, to fight against insecurity in the land. 5. Small/Medium Industries shall be involved and foreign investors would be encouraged. 6.Health, Cottage clinics would be established in every village. To bring health care to the people’s door steps.
7.On Sports, aid his govt. shall introduce a healthy sports competitions in the state as such would enable the govt. hunt for talents especially in football. 8.On Development, Barr. Success said that his govt. if elected shall introduce/set up satellite town development agencies.
9.Personal Assistants, people would be engaged as Governor’s Ambassadors in each of the communities/villages. 10. Asset Declaration, he promised to declare his assets. 11. Rule of law, he said people must take responsibility for their actions. Right people would be in a right positions. Rule of law, equity, fairness and inclusive govt.
The ADP guber flagbearer, Barr.Success, therefore told Imolites he has been previously invited for investigation by EFCC and ICPC but cleared due to professional financial income as a Real Estate Merchant and as a Lawyer.
“If it means to forfeit my security votes, I ready and prepared to make sacrifices, provided Imo State is restored. I am not promising free education but I will education very affordable so that every parent can be able to offer. I will run a transparent govt. and I shall be very prudent to serve the people, if given the power as Governor in 2019”,Akagburuonye submitted.
He appealed to Imolites to go and get their voters cards, which he described as their only electoral power to vote out bad leadership and vote ADP.
