Imo Primary Health Care Moves Against Meningitis “A”

The Executive Secretary of the Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Hon.Dr.Perry Njoku,with his team of Health Workers and partners in the Health Institutions was on last Tuesday,3rd  2019,paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Imo State,Chief Emeka Ihedioha.

 

At the visit, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr.Njoku,during the visit,informed the State Government and the people of Imo State that his agency will on Thursday, Dec.5th 2019,officially flag-off of the “Meningitis ‘A’ Vaccine Immunization” for children of ages of 1-5 years.

 

More so,the govt.of Imo State has reiterated her commitment towards the provision of adequate facilities for newborn and children across the 27 LGA’s of the state.

 

Deputy Imo  State Governor, Hon.Engr.Gerald Irona,who represented the State Governor made the disclosure during a courtesy visit by the leadership and management of the Imo State  Primary Health Care Development Agency ahead of the flag off of immunization in the 27 LGA’s to be hold on Dec.5th 2019 in Owerri.

 

Irona also called on the stakeholders and partners to continue to work hard to advance the cause of quality healthcare delivery for women and children to save them from unacceptable mortality.

 

On his part, executive secretary of the primary helath care development agency, Perry njoku stated that the advocacy was necessitated by the current high prevalence of maternal and mortality in the country, which according to her, calls for concern by all well meaning Nigerians.

 

He also commended Governor Emeka ihedioha and his wife, for their special interest in the wellbeing of women and children in the state, while urging all the stakeholders to collaborate to ensure that every mother and child has access to good healthcare service.
