Imo Primary Health Care Commences Campaign Against High Mortality Rate In Imo

The Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency, under the headship of Executive Secretary,Dr. Perry Njoku,has officially commenced its  2019 sensitization program for the children and adults for properly immunization against the five major killer diseases in  world.

 

He further noted that him at the helm of affairs of agency has vowed to make primary health care functional and affordable which we enable general and tertiary hospitals perform optimally.

 

The Medical Expert,Dr.Njoku, noted that as a member of the transition committee, he realised that most people needed functional health care.

 

“We discovered that health from the standpoint of affordability, accessibility and availability the three core factors are captured in one concept because the Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha,wants a result oriented person with real and possible ideas.

 

“There are bulk of our health challenges fall within this primary health care, and when we get it right at that level, our general and tertiary hospitals will function at optimum level,”he asserted.

 

According to Dr.Perry,” my  desire is to see an old woman getting  medication at a nearby health centre without spending much; that is what the administration intends to achieve; having the basic services at minimal cost”.

 

He therefore disclosed that the authority of his agency have lifted campaign against some major child-killer diseases such as mizzles for children of 12 months to 59 months, to prevent them from infant mortality death rate.

 

“With forthcoming programme on second dose vaccine campaign which will be flag off soon is aimed at preventing infant death,we know  is dangerous but is also preventive,” he said.

 

According to them, fight against infant death is a collective efforts.

 

All hands must be on deck to make a positive change in Imo State.

 

Second dose vaccine campaign is for our own interest as it was stressed.

 

They siezed the opportunity to charge all parents to take their children to the nearest Health Care Center to immunize them for free of charge. We shall be offering free medical care to the public from time to time for them to leave healthier” they said.

 

 

In his contribution , the Imo State Coordinator of World Health Organization,WHO,Dr.Sabastine Okwu,expressed satisfaction to associate with have  Dr.Perry Njoku, in the medical system of Imo State,whom he described as an experienced person.

 

He further promised to support the agency and also assured to work in synergy with the leadership of Dr. Njoku for the healthy life of Imolities.

 

Concluding, the State Coordinator of Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency,  Mrs.Stella Okoro,who spoke on behalf of all health workers in the Imo State declared their full support and to ensure the new Executive Secretary to succeed in the new office.
