The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in its plans to take over power from the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, in 2023 general elections has gathered memento with the establishment of basic youth structures from across the 36 States and Abuja as an Imo Born- German-Based Industrialist, Philanthropist, Chief Collins Osuagwu (PhD) emerged as the National Patron of the major opposition party,PDP, in Nigeria.
Speaking, the National President, PDP National Youth Movement, Engr. Salahudeen Lukman, said that the event will be on the 29th day of January 2022 at NEC Hall PDP National Headquarters Wuse Zone 5 Abuja for the inauguration of the State’s, and Zonal Coordinators to ensure that the party mobilized over 12 million Youths ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Engr. Lukman further explained that Chief Osuagwu’s outstanding records in politics were the major reason that led to the group’s unilateral decisions to make him a National Patron.
Based on that, the former Imo State Governorship Candidate, Osuagwu will be expected to be the Special Guest of Honour at the event and he will also deliver a keynote address with the theme”Political Worth and Election Value of Youth in Party Administration, Election Processes and Governance”
Responding, Chief Osuagwu, a chieftain of the party from the Youth Wing expressed happiness on his appointment as the National Patron of the party youth wing by assuring them that he is going to do his best to ensure that the party not only succeed but to win in all the electives position come 2023 general elections, from the Presidential, Governorship to the State Houses of Assembly polls.
The Imo State Born-German-Based philanthropist and business magnet were also optimistic that the avenue has widened his political scope to contribute more of his quota in the national building through the initiations of good governance and sponsorship.
It could be recalled that recently Senator Samuel Anyanwu (SamDaddy) emerged as the PDP National Secretary, therefore with the appointment of Chief Osuagwu as the National Patron, PDP National Youth Movement, Imo people have no other options than to embrace PDP and to make it a household Political Party for their total emancipation and freedom from the bad governance often orchestrated by President Mohammed Buhari’s bad leadership.
