Imo Police Parades 30 Suspects For Child-Trafficking, Kidnapping, Cultism, Stealing

The Imo State Police Command under the watch of the Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Ladodo, was on Friday, April 19th 2019,(Good Friday) paraded 30 persons suspected to be fully involved in various heinous crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, trafficking in human person, cultism and other social vices.

 

Addressing journalists at the State Police Headquarters Owerri, the CP,Ladodo, who was newly posted to the state ,expressed gladness to witness the showcasing of the command’s recent achievements in fighting crime.

 

He recalled his maiden press briefing when he told newsmen that he has promised and vowed to tackle all crime and criminality vigorously and that there will be no hiding place for hoodlums in Imo State.

 

“In this Command, we are poised and passionate to fight against crime. I have also promised to continue to partner and synergize with all the security agencies in the state as well as all government institutions, traditional rulers and heads of communities in the state”,Ladodo noted.

 

He therefore urged the good people of Imo State to always cooperate with the police by partnering in the area of information dissemination as such would assist the command to rid the state of crime and criminality, he even advised parents and guardians to warn their children/wards to desist from crime as anyone caught must face the full wrath of the law.

 

Meanwhile, the command through the PPRO, Mr.Orlando Ikeokwu, showcased the arrest of child trafficking syndicate suspects which includes: one young Mrs. Chinonye Oparaocha,23 years old, Mrs. Confidence Anyanwu,female,28 years old, Mr. Christian Duru,male,38 years old, Mrs. George Iyowuna, female of 38 years old and Mrs. Cynthia Williams, female of 44 years old. It was revealed that on Feb.8th 2019,at an undisclosed Hospital Clinic along Nekede road in Owerri West LGA of Imo State, Mrs. Chinonye Oparaocha, delivered a bouncing baby boy and later conspired with a nurse, Mrs. Confidence Anyanwu,a native of Umuhu Okwuato in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State, but resident at No.41 Mbaise road Owerri in company of her husband, Mr.Amaeze Anyanwu, now at large who carried the six (6) hours-old-born baby boy to Port Harcourt City in Rivers State, where one Mr. Christian Duru,was waiting for them. On arrival to PH, Mr.Duru in company of one Mrs. George Iyowuna now met them at the hideout, took over the baby boy and handed over to a prospective buyer one Mrs. Williams Cynthia, and her husband who eventually paid them sum of #850,000, on 13th April, 2019, suspects and recovered the newly born baby boy Abiya Williams, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeting members of the syndicate.

 

The Suspects have made useful statements to the police concerning the crime they have committed and they are helping the police with useful information’s for proper further investigation.

 

Also on the arrest of armed robbery suspects, recently operatives of the F-SARS arrested one Ekene Mbonu, male of 33 years, at Amakaohia Uratta Owerri North LGA of Imo State, and recovered a Toyota Camry (Spider) as an exhibit.

 

In the same vain, following the incessant cult related activities as well as other heinous crimes within the Federal Poly.Nekede axis ( Nekede/Ihiagwa area of Owerri West) and its environs and the receipt of credible information that members of a notorious cult group were forcefully trying to initiate an innocent student of the Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO, operatives of the Police Anti-Cultism Unit quickly swung into action and apprehended four (4) students within Ihiagwa area.

 

The suspects have made useful statements confessing to belong to the Neo-Black Movement of Africa (Black-Axe) secret confraternity ( Ayes). Investigation is in progress and efforts are being intensified to burst the syndicate and unmask other members of the cult gang. Those involved as Black Axe members are: Jacob Oche Emmanuel, male of 25 years, Enwongwo Usual, male of 21 years, Isaac Henry, male of 20 years and Philip Chibuike, male of 21 years.
