Imo Police Command Parades 33 Suspected Kidnappers, Car Snatchers, Armed Robbers, Others

The Imo State Command under the headship of the State Police Commissioner, CP Dasuki D. Galadanchi, in his command’s proactive measure through Community Policing engagements was on Wed.Feb.6th 2019 in Owerri, parades 33 persons suspected involved in various heinous crimes in Imo State.

The police achievements includes: the arrest of kidnap suspects as listed below: Chinweke Nnachi,male,23 years and Chibuike Okolia,male,24 years, their victims are: Ekwueme Uchenna,m,27 years and Christian Duru,m,60 years, whereas Exhibits recovered from the kidnappers are:(1) one AK 47 rifle,30 rounds of ammunition, and a motorcycle.

The above named kidnap suspects on Dec.19th 2018 abducted and kidnapped Mr. Christian Duru, from Awo-Omamma in Oru-East LGA of Imo State. As fate would have it, the kidnappers arrived Orlu with the victim and in their bid to kidnap the second victim, one Ekweme Uchenna, their car fell into a gutter and from the ensuing scenarios, the first victim escaped. While on 20th Dec.2018, operatives of SARS of the command in collaboration with the Police Military Force, PMF 18 personnels swung into action and rescued the second suspect, just a day after he was kidnapped. The suspects have made useful statements and even confessed to the crime.

The police also disclosed to the media the arrest of armed robbery/murder suspects. The suspect, Chijioke Ukaeje, aka Puffin, male, 26 years of Umuduru in Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State, kidnapped and murdered one King Joe, male,(a hairstylist) at Old Stadium lane by Tetlow Road Owerri, on 13th Dec.2018 but was later arrested by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squard, SARS, and he confessed that the victim  belonged the Vikings Confraternity (Bagger) while he belonged to the Black Axe Confratanity (Ayeas).

Continuing, the State Police Command has recorded the arrest of kidnap suspects/recovery of victims’ SUV car, arrest of armed robbery/kidnap/murder suspects, and arrest of unlawful possession/impersonation suspects.

The Imo CP, Galadanchi, therefore summarized all the arrests made: No.of suspects arrested for kidnapping 10, armed robbery 21,unlawful possession of firearms 1,kidnapped suspects rescued 9,vehicles (exhibits) recovered 3,and motorcycles recovered 2,whereas number of arms/ammunition recovered  are: one (1) AK 47 rifle,2 (two) English made guns, (two) 2 locally made pistols and (1) one locally made double barrel guns.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, has strictly assured free, fair and credible 2019 general polls in the state, come Feb.16th/March 2nd election exercise even as he promised to work in partnership with Imo Journalists and called for peaceful conduct of the whole exercise in Imo State and in Nigeria.
