The entire members of Council of Elders of PDP in Imo State, ably led by an elders-statesman as the Chairman,Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu,(Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo),at the party secretariat along Owerri/Okigwe road, on Tuesday, April 2nd 2019,in a press release, expressed their profound thanks to the people of the State for graciously chosen the Imo Gov Elect, Rt.Hon.Emeka Ihedioha, as Governor, during the just concluded general elections successfully organized by INEC.
Chief Iwuanyanwu, while reading out the paper presented to newsmen, described Ihedioha as a very trusted, tested and experienced leader in the country.
“He has shown excellent leadership under many challenges of leadership in the past. He held many positions in the House of Representatives including Deputy Speaker and also as the Acting Speaker, during the Speakership of Rt.Hon.Aminu Tambuwal, who now his governorship bid at Sokoto State”, Chief Iwuanyanwu noted.
The Elders Council through Engr. Iwuanyanwu, commended Ihedioha for his visions, policy in rebuilding and reuniting Imo people, even as they extolled Ihedioha for his recent appointment of reputable Imo sons and daughters as members of the Transition Technical Committee, who would come in together to bring their talents and resources towards the new Imo.
“It does not matter which political party one belongs or which party you voted for. But all we need is those that will assist Ihedioha to offer good governance”, Elders submitted.
“Our thanks go to the Religious Organizations, the Catholic Churches, Anglican Churches, Apostolic, Pentecostal, Baptist, Presbyterian and all the churches who prayed fervently, physical support, political pressure groups, and various campaign organizations for making Ihedioha Governor. We must also commend the Imo Civil Servants, Pensioners, Students, Market Women, Men, Transporters, Workers, Artisans, Association, Labour Unions, Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, and other organizations who contributed tremendously towards the 2019 electioneering victory of PDP that brought Ihedioha as the winner”, Statesmen acknowledged.
The elders, however, expressed gratitude to all the leadership of PDP at the National, Zonal and State levels for their hard work in ensuring sacrifices towards the victory, even as they committed Ihedioha and all the successful candidates of the party onto the unfailing hands of the Almighty God.
