IMAP Crisis: If This Panel Does Not Succeed, I Don’t Think We Will Set Up Any Panel Again-Gov Sule

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has affirmed that if the present visitation panel of the Isa Mustapha Agwai l, Polytechnic, Lafia does not succeed, he will never attempt to set up any panel again.

Abdullahi Sule gave the hint when the 11 Man visitation panel of IMAP submitted their report to the visitor to the Polytechnic last week.

The Governor lauded the committee for doing thorough work in the best interest of Polytechnic and the State.

“I’m tired of the rift in the Polytechnic, myself and the Deputy Governor sat at least 10 times to resolve the matter but to no avail” Said Engineer Abdullahi Sule.

The averred that the Polytechnic is more important than an individual, Giving the assurance that the State Government will not hesitate to implement the recommendation of the visitation panel.

“The Polytechnic is not for me or my children but is for the sake of the State because I will not fumble with the recommendation “He in addition said the State Government will not set up another panel again if this present visitation panel fails.

“I feel so sad that the two, that is the Chairman Governing Council and the management cannot work together for the sake of the institution”.

Stating that the institution was in shamble before the Chairman Governing Council and the new management took over.

Governor Abdullahi Sule described the Chairman of the Governing Council of IMAP, His Royal Highness, The Emir of Karshi, Muhammed Bako lll as an individual who works above board to bring back the Polytechnic on track.

Sule explained that the situation in IMAP is quite unfortunate that the Governing Council Chairmen and the management of the institution refused to work together for the sake of the Polytechnic and Nasarawa State.

The Chairman of the visitation panel and former President of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Engineer Ali Rabiu in an interview while presenting the report of the committee to the visitor buttressed that the committee has done the needful by inviting all parties with memorandum.

He said the setting up of the committee was legal and enshrined the law establishing the Polytechnic to improve some areas of need.

“The main purpose of the committee was to look into ways that will resolve the impasse between the Chairman Governing Council and the management of IMAP”, He added.

Engineer Ali Rabiu averred that the committee has submitted its report with recommendations.

“Is now left for the visitor to come up with a white paper”.
