The Gubernatorial candidate of the National Rescue Movement in Nasarawa State has denied the video clip-making round that he jettisoned his Governorship ambition for the Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party.
Alhaji Abubakar Musa while briefing Journalists condemned the viral video as untrue urging his teeming supporters to disregard the video.
The candidate during a press conference at the Abacha Youth Centre on Friday says it becomes necessary in order to set the record straight in regards to a video clip that has gone viral on various social media platforms as well as some conventional media stations to the effect that he has jettisoned his ambition and has stepped down for the Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Hon David Umbugadu.
According to him “I would like to state categorically and for the records that this is not true. let me further clarify that I Alhaji Abubakar Musa Sambo remain not only the authentic but also the acceptable candidate of NRM in Nasarawa state.
The news is not only fake but also unfounded and malicious being spread by politicians who are desperate to achieve their political goals through whatever means possible.
I wish to also state that I have been approached by various leading political parties in the state on the possibility of withdrawing from the race and supporting their respective candidates in the forthcoming 2023 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
At this point, I am yet to make a final decision on the matter and will be happy to make it known to the people of the state at the appropriate time.
Finally, I want to thank my teeming supporters, and officials of my party from the ward to the National Level for their immense support to me.
Let me also thank the coordinators from the ward to the zona level as well as members of my Campaign Council in the state who cherish this unflinching support.
