The former Member Representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency in Plateau State Hon Tgst. Lumumba Dah Adeh, FNATE an Aspirant for 2021 Bye-Election for Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, NASS has said, “I’m once again appalled by the resurgence of attacks in Bassa LGA,a local government area that was one time an epitome of peaceful coexistence and harmonious living”.
Hon Lumumba Adeh made this disclosure in a press statement in Jos, condemning the incessant killings and destruction of lives and properties for decades.
He explained further that the persistent violent attacks on the people of Rigwe nation are not only worrisome and troublesome but, most irritating because it has caused the nation so much hardship, anguish, and pains that are devastating in nature.
According to him , When a nation bleeds, it requires people to stand with it, cry together and fashion out ways of halting it.
He pointed out, even as I share in the pains and grief of my people at this trying moment, I want to state in clear terms that the attack on innocent and faultless Rigwe souls is nothing short of an act of barbarism, savageness, and fiendishness which in all sense and manner of truthfulness, is condemnable.
Hon Lumumba disclosed that the brutal annihilation of ten(10) souls, destruction of households, and food barns by suspected herders at Te’egbe village of Miango District on Friday, November 26, 2021 is grievous and callous.
He said one factor that can bring an end to this act of continuous display of wickedness is apart from total forgiveness and reconciliation across the country; to ensure justice is served via the instantaneous arrest of all perpetrators of evil and prompt conviction with appropriate punishment in line with the laws of the land.
Hon Lumumba Adeh appealed that It is on this note, that I call on the security agents to step up their efforts as well as devise and employ modern ways of ending the insecurity challenges within the Local Government Area in particular and the entire state and the nation.
May God rest the souls of the faithful departed as well as grant the entire Rigwe nation the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, he added.
