Igbo Community Commends Governor Lalong For His Achievements

The Plateau state Governor, Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong has been commended for his numerous achievements in the state on the area of peace, clearance of backlog of workers’ salaries, pensioners.

The president General Igbo cultural and welfare association (ICWA) chief Christian Ngbedike made this disclosure in a press statement to our reporter in Jos on Sunday.

He congratulated the members of the plateau state House of Assembly under the leadership ofthe speaker, Rt Hon Peter Azi and the chairman council of chiefs His Royal Highness, the Gbong Gwom, His majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba for their contribution towards sustaining the traditional institution through creating a harmonious working relationship with other tribes on the plateau.

The president of ICWA while assuring the government and good people of plateau state of Igbos support through economic empowerment, called on all ethnic communities in the state to join hands together in lifting the good image of plateau by engaging in meaningful ventures that will bring an end to the economic recession been experienced in the country.

Furthermore, chief Ngbedike, also drew the attention of the public on the news making the rounds by some mischief makers who claim to be the spokes group of ndi igbo as false.

‘ ‘We wish to state here categorically clear that Igbo is led by chief Samuel Achi (onyendu Igbo)’ as commanded by the apex body of Igbos’ (ohaneze) who issued a press statement in Jos said anybody wishing to lead Igbos  in diaspora should go by the tittle of leader onyendu.

He recalled that recently in Akure in Ondo state and Ibadan in Oyo state these issues has brought untold hardship, conflict and has pitched Igbos against the owners of the land, henceforth only the title of onyendu should be used. therefore the mantle fell on chief Samuel Achi to led Igbos in Jos and is recognized by the Gbong Gwom Jos His  majority, Da Jacob Gyang Buba.

With the selection of chief Samuel Achi peace, respect and recognition has been accorded igbos in Jos

He called on members of the public to disregard any of such information but rather corporate with their leader chief Samuel Achi as the onyendu Igbo and warned them not to be deceived by any person or group who has no good intentions for their wellbeing.
