I’ Won’t Probe Sule Lamido Says Jigawa Gov

Muhammad-Abubakar-BadaruThe governor ofJigawa state Alahaji Muahmmad Badaru Abubakar has disabused the minds of those agitating that he should probe his predecessor Alhaji Sule Lamido.

Govenror Aabuabakar stated this while responding questions from newsmen as part of his 100 days in office, in Dutse yesterday.

He disclosed that the operative of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission  [EFCC]were in the state doing their investigation even as they are  going to all  Ministries,    Parastatals,   and Extra Ministerial departments  to ascertain the veracity of all incomes and expenditures of the immediate past government.

‘I don’t have to  probe  anybody as EFCC  is in the state doing their legitimate  duty ,I don’t want duplicate their job of the anti- Corruption job, so  let them do their work,’’ he pointed out.

On the impact of governance, governor Badaru  Aabuabakr said ,it was  very challenging , but through the will of God , they are able to meet some of the promises they made during electioneering campaign adding that when he took over power , on May29,2015 he inherited only #16 million in  the government Coffers with nothing in the stabilization account and  vouchers of #14billion of contractual liabilities plus non payment of WAEC and NECO.

The governor explained further that  when they came on board, the Federation account allocation has dropped from # 4to 5 billion to #3.8 billion monthly, but were able to pay workers salaries,  over head cost ,and pension regularly ,maintained efficiency  and quality service delivery.

He said that through the reduction of over head cost and other unnecessary expenditures,  his government  was able to save substantial amount of money   citing an example of Jigawa radio were  #480million was been spending every month and #200million on fuelling of street lights generators, but reduced the money to  only #72 million  without compromising quality .

‘’This was because I have a good approach to spending public money and we not going to embark on multiple projects ,but we shall do them gradually and one by one.’’
