Hon.Musa Shuaibu Wayo,The executive chairman of Wamba Local Government has made  a shocking  revelation that he inherited N500 from the coffers of Local Government.
The council boss opened the can of worms in an interview with cross section of journalist at the state ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, The chairman maintained that  despite the empty treasury the council paid staff salary as at when due.
Hon. Wayo hinted that his Local Government is not owing any salary staff since he assumed office on 24/3/2014,We paid staff salary promptly since we came on board, He Added.
“Apart from the payment of staff salary, I appointed almost 92 political appointees and we paid them without any problem, Money is not our money in Wamba Local Government, Said Hon.Shuaibu Musa Wayo.
While commenting on the fund accrued to Wamba Local Government under the Subsidy Reinvestment and Economic Programme (SURE-P) of the present federal government, He affirmed that chunk of N29m was released under the programme.
He listed some of the projects executed to include the construction of bridge to the tune of N1.3m, Other project also was the fencing of council secretariat, He said the fencing was to reduce the rising spate of insecurity at the Local Government secretariat.
The chairman affirmed that he meet a gory situation ranging from lack of office accommodation for the Chairman, Deputy, Secretary, “In three weeks time i mobilized contractors to site and the issue of office accommodation is a forgotten story”.
He further asserted that he embark on the renovation work of a clinic opposite Wamba Market, Hon.Wayo said the abandoned clinic served majority of people from the existing electoral ward, He listed some of the success story of his administration to include the engagement of casual staff.
I also renovated market square hall, i renovated office accommodation annexed to council chamber, I also linked a bridge linking Science school Wamba,I also linked a bridge linking Mararaban Gongo, procured two vehicle as well rehabilitate grounded ones to ease transport problem in the council.
The chairman described the Local Government as the only luckiest council that has not experience any shortage of staff salary since his assumption of office, He however said Wamba Local appoints 98 appointees.
