Labaran Maku, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in 2015 governorship election has described the hiring of some legal luminaries to include his name amongst the six persons indicted by the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Alakyo killings and other Matters there connected with as a cheap blackmail.
Maku disclosed this when he paid a condolence visit to the family of late PA Akwashiki Ezhim at the family compound at Alushi, Nasarawa Eggon local government Areas on Friday.
He raised alarm over an attempt to twist the outcome of the Commission’s findings, stating further that the Chief Executive, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura knows the origin of Ombotse.
“Al-Makura and his cohorts sponsored Ombotse group, saying he was never mentioned known invited by the commission for involvement in the activities of the group.
“My believe in peace is something open and nobody overnight can rubbish my reputation”.
“He set up a research team going from ministry to ministry which I served to rubbish my reputation which I build over the years”.
Labaran Maku said his odeal is in connection to his consistent opposition to anti people policies especially the recent decision by the governor to sale states assets.
“I’m not an enemy but an opposition who served Nigeria with sense of humility and good conscious but not a politician that is ready to build an empire”.
Maku described the liquidation of the Nasarawa State Investment and Property Development Company as a bad omen to the entire state and the generation yet unborn.
