Huba Chiefdom in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa has unveiled a 30-year development plan to complement government efforts in providing social services for the development of the area.
The Plan was unveiled at the 1st anniversary of the Chief with Dr. Alheri Nyako as the first coronated Tol Huba.
Boss Mustapha, Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) said, the plan has five key areas: Security, water, health, education, and women development.
“Unveiling of the Hong Local Government Development Plan stands out as a defining highlight, signalling a forward-looking commitment to structured growth, infrastructure expansion, and community advancement”, he said.
He said the creation of the Chiefdom has laid the institutional foundation; “the responsibility before us is to consolidate unity, strengthen governance structures, mobilize community capital.
“And position the traditional institution as a constructive partner in the broader development trajectory of Adamawa State”.
In his remarks, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri congratulated the Chiefdom’s one-year anniversary on the throne as well as the entire kingdom and pledged to support the Chiefdom’s plan with N100 million.
” One year might be too short, but it is loaded with meaning and symbolism that would transcend generations to come.
“Beyond the Huba Chiefdom, the decision to create the seven Chiefdoms and Emirates is one of the best decisions of these administrations.
“The decision has conferred divinity on the citizens, fostering unity among the people. This has also strengthened governance at the local level and closer to people in hard-to-reach places,”, said.
Gen. Hala Hananiya embraced love and peaceful co-existence for more development.
He appreciated the indigene for their support and cooperation for the development of the Chiefdom.
Nyako, the Tol Huba appreciated Gov. Fintiri, who presented a staff of office to him as Tol Huba and the paramount ruler of Huba Chiefdom after over 120 years.
“Today we gathered here to celebrate one year of independence, freedom, honor, dignity, and a fresh breath of fresh air”, he said.
According to him, within the period has done everything possible towards fullfing the expectations of Gov. Fintiri of ensuring unity, peace, security, and sustainable development.
He added that within the year of independence, the issue of religious differences is no longer a challenge in the Chiefdom.
