How We Discovered 35 Illegal Hospitals And Clinics In Nasarawa West And North-Director Clinical Services Unit

The Deputy Director, Clinical Services, Nasarawa State Ministry of Health, Dr.Damina has maintained that the Department of Clinical Services saddled with the responsibility of inspecting private hospitals and Clinics had discovered 35 Illegal facilities from Nasarawa West and North Senatorial district.
The Deputy Director confided that the team inspected 241 facilities out of which 35 are illegal, which he affirmed ranging from hospitals and clinics.
He confirmed that some of the Illegal facilities were not inspected at the point of commencement of operation by the ministry.
According to him, “in Karu Local Government we inspected hospitals, clinics, laboratories and Nursing homes while illegal facilities where shutdown out rightly.
In Nasarawa, Keffi, Akwanga, Wamba and Toto Local Government we did the same thing.
He said in Toto Local Government the team has less work to do with the ongoing crisis in the area, he explained that only facilities in Gadabuke Development Area were inspected.
He added that Wamba Local Government has the lowest number of private clinics.
However maintained that the inspection would continue from Nasarawa Eggon, Lafia, Doma, Obi,Keana and Awe respectively.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Ishaku Abari explained that the Ministry would ensure that the inspection is successful.
He said the Ministry will give all necessary support to the team.
