Habila Dung, a Prosecuting Witness four (PW4) ofthe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, yesterday told a Plateau StateHigh Court sitting in Jos how he and Yusuf Pam, a former cashier of the Officeof the Secretary to the State Government delivered N4 billion classified expenditure money to former Governor Jonah Jang from January, 2015 to May 26,2015.

Dung, a former Permanent Secretary, Cabinet and Special Duties in the office of Office of the SSG between December 2014 and September 2015, said he raised some of the memos that led to the withdrawal of about N4 billion captured in the budget of security/classified expenditure.

Jang and Pam are standing trial before Justice Daniel Longji on a 12-count charge of abuse of office and misappropriation of N6.3 billion.

During yesterday’s sitting, Dung, who was also an Assistant Secretary of the state security council during Jang’s administration, alleged that he accompanied Pam twice to deliver money to Jang at his office when he was the governor of the state.

He said: “After the governor or SSG directed me to raise a memo on a specific issue, I would do that, then I would take it to governor for approval, after his approval, then Yusuf Pam, would go to bank and withdraw the money.

“On 21st January, 2015 Yusuf Pam withdrew the sum of N320 million from the OSSG security account domiciled in Zenith Bank after it was earlier approved by the governor. After the withdrawal we took it to the governor. I accompanied Mr Pam twice to governor’s office to deliver the money.”

The counsel to the 1st defendants, Mike Ezekhome, asked the court to give him time to enable him cross-examine the EFCC’s witness.

Justice Longji adjourned the matter to today for cross-examination and hearing.
