Drama arose at the University of Jos, Plateau State on Thursday when one Abdulsalam Idris, a 300-level medical student of the University of Jos (Unijos), died yesterday in the institution’s clinic after allegedly sustaining severe injuries following an assault by a group allegedly led by a fellow student, Fisal Dahiru Ibrahim.
The acting Chief Security Officer of Unijos, Agama Solomon, said the suspect claimed to have given Abdulsalam N30,000 to bribe a technician for exam grades but that when the results were released and the suspect failed, he reportedly orchestrated an attack that led to Abdulsalam’s death.
It was further gathered the suspect had been arrested and handed over to the police for further investigation.
The incident it was learnt occurred weeks after the victim and the suspect had written their examination it was further gathered.

Sources within the institution told newsmen that the body of the deceased had been taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
