How Police Arrested Mrs. Bali, Bassa Management Committee Chairperson Over Alleged Diversion Of Fertilizers

The Management committee Chairman of Bassa local government, Mrs Sarah Bali was arrested by the Nigerian police over Fertilizers’ scam.

As learnt by this medium, the local government staff also accused her of financial recklessness as well as denying them dividend of democracy.

It was gathered that the management committee chairman who was alleged to have diverted fertilizers worth of million was arrested by the Police, however, she has been granted bail.

Investigation by this medium reveals how  Fertilizer  meant for farmers were diverted, farmers who were given allocation papers to collect their Fertilizer came to the council for collection only to discovered that the fertilizers was nowhere to be found.

Information available to this medium disclosed that farmers in the local government invaded the council secretariat, only to discover that fake allocation papers were issued to them.

The aggrieved farmers thereby invited the Nigerian police who arrested the council boss and was detained for some days.

It would be recalled that since the council chair was appointed as the transition chairman she has ran into several troubled waters among which include her clash with council staff, supervisory councilors including the council secretary as she has refused to work with them.

Staff of the council has expressed disappointment with her level of leadership as since she was appointed, she has nothing to show for her stewardship which has prompted the state to express disappointment with her and plans are on the way to remove her earlier but was prevailed upon by APC stakeholders in Bassa.

The embattled chairman Mrs. Bali is alleged to have been known for controversy as even before her appointment which didn’t go down well with the people,  it was alleged that they staff protested against her nomination as they cautioned government to drop her.

Some of party faithful challenged the APC government to always seek the people interest before appointing someone of her caliber to occupied such elevated office.

Bassa which is known as a food basket of the state but this year cannot be reflected in the council as a result of bad leadership exhibited.
