How Pharmacist In Imo Killed APC Leader In Owerri

Owerri, the capital city of Imo State, truck in a heavy tragedy last Saturday as a leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon.Damian Ali, was allegedly beaten to death by the owner of Swift Tel Pharmacy and his workers.

 

Our reporter has it that the incident caused heavy pandemonium at Umuguma Junction in the World Bank area of Owerri, but through the intervention of some personnels of the Owerri Police Divisional Headquarters, they were able to restore the normal activities and the economic situation  in the area .

 

Reports learnt that the deceased was from Nkarahu in the Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State and until his death,was the  chieftain of the ruling party, APC, in his area.

 

A kinsman of the deceased, Mr.Dominic Okpor, told our reporter on Sunday that the pharmacist and his staff killed Hon. Ali via beating and he was confirmed death while the victim was trying to park his car in front of the business premises .

 

Okpor said, “he was beaten to death at Umuguma Roundabout on Saturday by the owner of Swift Tel Pharmacy and his staff,  who came to stop him from parking in front of their shop”.

 

The Police Public Relation Officer,   Mr.Godson Orlando Ikeokwu, said the owner of the pharmacy was in custody .

 

The PPRO disclosed that the suspect reported himself to the police.

 

He noted that the Commissioner of Police, Imo State,CP, Olaniyi Fafowora,  had ordered urgent investigation into the incident .

 

“The owner of the pharmacy is in police custody . He reported himself . The CP has ordered the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to take over the matter”, Orlando submitted.
