How LGA Pensioners In Nasarawa Are Threatened Allegedly By Nasarawa Government To Surrender Their PVCs As Bailout Trick For Pension

The Local government pensioners in Nasarawa state have rejected the state government’s policy of their Permanent Voters Card, PVC for their pension entitlement.
The latest reports revealed that the various chairmen of the state LGA pensioners union were directed to implement the PVC for payment policy by asking their members to surrender them for the payment of their outstanding arrears by the APC control state.
Meanwhile, Comrade Abdullahi Ladan, the chairman of the pensioners union had directed all members not to surrender their voting powers for two months’ pay.
However, the suspected retirees have vehemently rejected the directive, saying it was against their fundamental human rights.
Reliable close sources from Lafia, Keana, and Obi said the pensioners have rebuked the directive.
“We have asked our members to ignore that selfish order. We can’t surrender our votes for our entitlement which is our right, the retirees insisted.”
Gov Abdullahi Alhaji Sule appears to be desperate to garner support for his second term and could do anything to get votes.
Observers noted that this may not be unconnected to the last Saturday outing of the Dr. David Ombugadu’s governorship campaign team to Obi and the Tuesday rally in Akwanga that attracted a huge crowd.
LGA Pensioners who are protesting the delay of their wages might support the opposition PDP against the ruling APC thus pushing for these desperate moves.
