Despite the heavy downpour last Wednesday night Armed robbers, kidnappers unleashed attack on travellers along Garaku Gudi highway ,killing three on the spot and whisking away scores
The incident occurred around Mararaban Arusu at the Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State where scores of travellers were whisked away to unknown destination.
According to an eyewitness, the gunmen killed three passengers on the spot who were later confirmed dead at a nearby hospital.
It was gathered that the kidnappers shot on a heavy duty vehicle which broke down and blocked the road, causing untold hardship on the expressway before carrying out their operations amidst the heavy downpour.
Efforts to reach the Divisional Police Officer of Garaku Division proved abortive at press time.
A policeman officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity said security operatives have been deployed to the area to bring the situation under control and ensure safety of travellers and other road users.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel could not be reached for comment at press time.
