How House Of Reps Speaker, Dogara Gave N170 Million To Barau Ningi To Resign— Former House Of Reps Aspirant

  • Shehu Yakubu A Frustrated Element, Dogara Never Gave Me Money To Resign—Barau Ningi

The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC in Bauchi State, is nowhere near finishing as an APC member in the State, Alhaji Yakubu Baba Shehu who was a former House of Representatives Aspirant for Bauchi Metropolis in the last election has accused the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara of giving the former Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Alhaji Barau Ningi the sum of N170 Million to resigned his position as Commissioner, an allegation which Barau Ningi himself has vehemently denied, adding that he stated the reasons why he resigned in his press conference, and that there was no time Dogara gave money or he went to meet Dogara over the issue of his resignation.

According to the former aspirant, at press conference held in Bauchi state yesterday, he said the former Commissioner, Barau Ningi has been in constant touch with Dogara and National Assembly members from Bauchi all in a bid to fight the present government of Bauchi State, under the leadership governor Mohammed Abubakar.

Speaking further, he said the Dogara spearheading the gathering other National Assembly members of Bauchi origin as well as some politicians from the state are playing politics of divide and rule.

According to him, sometimes in November last year, Barau Ningi and other political agents was invited by the Speaker and other politicians in Abuja for a meeting where Barau Ningi was instigated to resign from Governor Abubakar’s government.

Speaking further he said aside the N170 million naira given to Barau Ningi, he was also given five cars, some motorcycles and an unspecified amount of money all in a bid to lure people to organize a rally within the state. The rally he said was to showcase to the people that the government of Governor Abubakar is no longer relevant in the state.

“We blame Dogara for the political crisis in the state,” he said.

Furthermore he said; “most of the people that surrounds Dogara are nonentities that cannot attract votes come 2019.”

Speaking further he said; Barau Ningi has no close political ally, but it is very unfortunate.”

Meanwhile, when this newspaper contacted the former Commissioner, Barau Ningi he said the former aspirant is a frustrated element, that all the things he said are not true and that they are absolute rubbish.

Speaking Ningi said; “he approached me, he told me to resign from Governor Abubakar’s Government, even prior before he told me that, more than 20 persons have met and told me to resign.  I told him am not resigning, that I have a debt of N400, 000 to pay to the State Government and that as soon as I do that, I will resign.”

Ningi also stated that; “the former House of  Representatives aspirant told me that, I should resign if it is because of that money that I said I am owing, that I should tell the Speaker of the House of Representatives, so that he will pay it, but I replied him, no.”

According to Ningi after two to three months when he rejected the advice from the former aspirant, he resigned a day after he paid back the N400, 000.

Speaking further to universalreporters247.com he said, when he resigned the Speaker called him and asked him if he has returned the official vehicle given to him by the State, and he said yes; it was based on that that the Speaker gave me a car to replace the official vehicle I was using.”

According to him, he said the Speaker never gave him N170 million, he said if the Speaker gave him such amount of money, people around him would have known, and the evidence would have been seen.

Ningi also stated after that, some of supporters and people went and visited the Speaker, and soon after that visit, Shehu Yakubu the former aspirant came and asked why he didn’t put him among the list of persons that visited the Speaker of the House of Representatives. He told universalreporters247.com that he replied him that he was not in know of their visit to the Speaker, that he wasn’t the one that arranged the visit, that they didn’t tell him when they visited the Speaker.

Speaking further Ningi said he told, him that he had wished to be part of that visit because, he has a lot of things to do with money and that he has some debts to offset, including him Ningi whom he said he is owing N500, 000. Ningi said he even showed him his list of the debtors.

“Few weeks later he came to me and said that Governor Abubakar and his government has called him to detach himself from me and that if he does that, they will take care of his needs and pay his debts and gives him a car, so I told him to do what pleases him, that if he wants to detach himself from me that I have no problem with that.”

According to Ningi he said; “that was what happened, so the issue of Dogara paying me to resign is all lies, he is just a frustrated element.”
