The candidate who represented the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in last State Assembly election in Uba/Gaiya constituency of Adamawa State Dr. Raymond Chidama has accused the winner of the election in that constituency, Hon. Mohammed Hayatu Atiku of the All Progressives Congress, APC, of massive rigging. his way hope to have become a lawmaker in the Adamawa state of Assembly, Dr Raymond Chidama under the canopy of the Social Democracy Progress (SDP) has accused the All Progressive Congress ( APC) of massively indulge of rigging in the past election in some in Gaiya ward.
According to Dr. Raymond he had wanted to represent Uba/Gaiya in the state Assembly but victory eluded him owing to the arranged rigging by the APC candidate who contested against him.
Speaking further he added that he and his party were with all hope of winning due to the fact that the result of the election that was brought to the collation center saw his party the SDP winning all, but that he and his party were shocked when a particular result that came from a unit in Gaiya ward showed that SDP didn’t have a single vote.
He also said that in other units where APC knows that is the strong base of SDP they will use their thugs to insist that the card reader won’t be used; some APC Youths were molesting and giving death threats to anybody voting against APC.
When asked by Journalists in his office in Yola of the credibility of the supposed winner of Uba /Gaya in Hong LGA constituency of the state Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Hayatu Atiku, if really he is candidate that his people wants.
He said; “How can he be credible? A man that has proven that he is not going show any concern to his people; of recent he was accused to have been involved in a certificate forgery scandal, parading himself to have graduated from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Department of Mathematics which was investigated to a false? What will you say of a man just few months of his stay in the office is being accused of bribery and corruption to the turn N30 million, tell me how credible he can be,” Raymond said.
“Though he believe in Buhari’s kind of leadership but a lot of people who were opportune to be elected was because of the “Sak” mantra for the sake of Buhari but many are not credible enough to be where they are,” he said.
He said that is the reason why he challenged the purported victory of Hon. Hayatu to a competent court of law to seek a redress despite all form of death threats he received from his political enemies.
“I believe with my evidence presented to the court of all the election irregularities that was done by APC members in constituency the court will not hesitate in making the authentic winner of Uba/Gaya state House of Assembly in Adamawa state,” he concluded.
