The plight of Local Governments staff in Nigeria democracy shows how the system strife without the contributions of the 3rd tiers of government most especially in the 3rd world country where the tenure of elected chairmen is been truncated by their Governors.

The most worrisome is that of Plateau State government where Directors of personnel management (DPMs), the Directors of finance (DFS) and the Cashiers are still expecting the intervention of Governor Lalong quick response to correct the abnormalities lingering on in the civil service under his watch.

This mild drama has turned the table of Directors, Cashiers and Directors of finances across the 17 Local Government resorting to visitation where they complained bitterly that all efforts to dialogue and returned back proved abortive.

Our correspondent gathered that Governor Lalong told them categorically clear that they will soon be called back to work, but since the agreement was reached there is no positive outcome from the government and nothing was heard for them to be recalled back.

It’s gathered that Governor Simon Lalong on January 2017 suspended all the DPMs, Cahiers and DFSs who have suffered untold hardship under the present government.

It was disclosed that those promoted to these positions in the last regime have been on interdiction with effect from January 2017 with no words from the state Local Government Service Commission

Desperate moves by Directors of Personnel in Local government to take over Councils without government Communication has not yielded any result.

Meanwhile, information’s available shows that the government is not ready to change chairmen for now for the interest of peace in the state.
