How Ahmed Tukur, Governor Al-Makura’s Ex- SA On Media And Publicity Escaped Assassination

Last Friday night the former Special Assistant to the outgoing governor of Nasarawa State, Ahmed Tukur escaped being assassinated by unidentified hired Killers who trailed him to his family compound in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The three evil merchants suspected to be hired Killers on Friday night attacked the  Nasarawa-based few hours after he returned to his base from Lafia.

The unidentified mask men descended on him at the house shortly after he escorted his friend who paid him a visit after breaking their fast.

It was gathered that the assailants were dressed in a black garment with their faces covered. One of them was waiting on the bike as two of them approached him with a knife but all effort to strangulate him to death failed as he sustained a degree of injuries.

Ahmed Tukur while struggling to save his soul was stabbed in the hand. The former Special Assistant to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura identified that the assailants targeted his neck but missed their target so as to Kill him outrightly instead sustained another deep cut on his head while struggling with them for over five minutes before the timely intervention of neighbors who chased them away.

Ahmed Tukur while revealing his ordeal said he was scheduled to leave for Kano the following day on an official engagement which he said was later canceled due to the ugly incident.

“l Just saw off a brother who came visiting and then drove back home, Thereafter, I spent about five minutes locking the car and decided to remove the car battery because of thieves that have been disturbing the area.

“After closing the bonnet, two people approached me and I said, Salamu-Alaikum to one of them; stretching out my hands thinking he was coming to ask for something. Suddenly, he brought a knife out and went straight for my stomach.

“We engaged in a fierce struggle for over five minutes and in the process, the two men left a cut on my hand and head. I also have a dislocation in my right arm as you can see.

“They didn’t ask for money or anything, but were determined to either slash my neck or stomach with the knife.”

Tukur, who has a dislocation on his right limb, is presently receiving medical treating in a private clinic in the Jos Metropolis.

The incident has already been reported to the Police for investigation.
