Hon Thomas Charges Nigerian Politicians To Give Youth A Chance In Politics

An Aspirant for Young Progressive Party, YPP, Hon Akilo Olatunji Thomas has urged Nigerian politicians to allow the youths the privilege, opportunity to play politics without bitterness or mortgage the lives of the youth.

 

 

He is calling on them to shun the politics of division and differences and embrace each other as it is their time towards repositioning Nigeria.

 

Speaking to journalists during the Sallah message in Jos North Local Government Council,Thomas, who is vying for Governorship race ahead of 2022 Ekiti state government house.

 

He said, I’m not satisfied with the style of leadership exhibited by the Governor of Ekiti state, look very well the Governor is a Goodman, but no provision for infrastructural development and to identify with the Plight youths.

 

Akilo Olatunji Thomas explained further that the future of the upcoming generation in Ekiti state is bleeding because the Governor has failed them woefully were the students organize protest demanding for restoration of light in the campus but that was jettisoned by the Governor wife who orders for the killings of them claiming that they were planning to attack her convoy.

 

However, the second instance in Ekiti state was when the youth organized protest and the Governor order security personnel to shot aside especially in Ekiti East LGA, Oye, and Federal University, Oye where many students sustain various degrees of injuries.

 

 

According to him, a lot of factors has ender him to aspire into joining politics,” like the wise says, if you can’t beat them you can join them,” I actually don’t want to be part of the bad politicians we have here in Nigeria but to contribute in repositioning the atmosphere of politics for better service delivery.

 

He noted that “I notice a lot is happening well in Nigeria youth are relegated in the background of political affairs, we are totally marginalized starve and them from active participation where the majority is denied politically as a youth.

 

“We have not been carried along politically because all the politicians have to see the young people as a bundle of thuggery and hungry mobs perpetuating all manner of heinous crime in the society “.

 

He challenged politicians not to make use of youth as vessels of destructive agents in provoking creating evil and later dump them so they have finished us making us useless in the society.

 

Thomas expressed desire if given the mandate he would believe in politics of ideology of promoting and empowering them to stand on their own through the skills acquisition program by transforming for them to see themselves as important vessels in the society.

 

He appealed to the peace-loving sons and daughters of Ekiti state not to mortgage their future, but to stand united and defense democracy
