Hon .Josiah Gommam Visit Families Affected By Fire Inferno In Pishe-Yashi , Plateau, Donate 30 Bundles Of Roofing Sheets

At least no less than four compounds have been razed down by fire inferno in Pishe-Yashi wards of pil-Gani of Langtang North Local Government Council in Plateau State destroying properties but no life was lost in the incident .

Hon .Nanbol Josiah Gommam who visited the scene of the inferno donated 30 Bundles of roofing sheets as support to  Mai-angwan Pishe -Yashi with relief materials worth millions of Naira to cushion the plight of the immediate family.

He expressed sympathy with the victims of the inferno that involved an outbreak of fire inferno from the close bushes  that are near to the affected compounds in Langtang North Local Government Area.

However, after holding his electioneering campaign meeting with the stakeholders at the market square in Pishe-Yashi ,Hon Gommam moved straight to the scene,  where he described the loss of properties as worrisome because the area is a suburb of Pil-Gani the district headquarters for LG to act on time, so as to prevent the tragedy, he noted.

According to him, “This fire incident is worrisome and horrific because these communities were under attacks by marauders and they’re gradually returning back to their ancestral home when this ugly incident happened.

He appealed to the local authority to always intervene and provide urgent measures like security for firefighters when they are combating this sort of situation,”.

“It is sad, that the accident happened in the early hours, but nothing was done to evacuate properties of the victims, with no Clinic or the presence of medical equipment to aid those that sustained minor injuries.

“The damages caused have deprived affected families, their means of livelihood while they have recorded an irreparable loss of properties.

Hon.Nanbol Josiah Gommam also comforted the victims and assured them of his support through cash donation and 30 bundles of zinc to re-roof the destroyed houses.

He explained further that these communities don’t have access to quality drinking water, PHC centers, a training ground for skills acquisition, as he added that the communities are affected by a high rate of Internally Displaced Persons from the conflict that engulfed the southern zone.

Hon .Nanbol Gommam told our medium that the plight of vulnerable people encouraged his ambition to venture into the political arena to rescue the situation, he explained I trekked 30 km to attend school at Pil-Gani and did manual labour to pay fees.

Whenever I visit my village I usually see the unpalatable challenges of poverty, unemployment ravaging the people, and even sometimes going back to school was difficult, so I derive my desire to inspire more youths that there are hope and dignity in labour .
