High Court quash Ombatse/Allumaga Case By Rabiu Omaku,Lafia

A High court sitting in Lafia, The Nasarawa state capital has today 07/03/2014, dismissed an application filed by the legal Adviser to Ombatse (Eggon militia group) proscribing the blood sucking Association.
The presiding Judge, Justice Suleiman Umar Dikko, while passing judgment dismiss the case on the ground that Ombatse which means ‘’is our time’’is not a legal Association for that cannot take legal action against the state Government.

The presiding judge described the motion filed by the legal luminary and coordinator to the chief priest of Ombatse as wrong application of justice,”.

The application of Ombatse/Allumaga before this court is wrong.

The applicant (Ombatse/Allumaga is aware that the group has been proscribed 3 months before the submission of this application.

The presiding judge pronounced that the proscription of Ombatse by the Government of Nasarawa state through the application of legal notice number four of Northern Nigeria applicable to Nasarawa state was at the right equilibrium.

Barrister Sunday Akon of J.S Okutepa chambers while fielding questions from journalist at the court premises aver that the applicant has no case, Adding that Ombatse was not a registered Association.

“But the applicant has the legal right to appeal to the apex court but all I know is that Ombatse is not a registered group”


The Legal Adviser to the outlawed Ombatse, Barrister. Zachary Zamani Allumaga described the judgment of the court as a judicial robbery, But when ask whether he will appeal to the apex court he remain mute. 

It could be recalled that the legal Adviser to Ombatse group filed a motion to restrain the Judicial Commission of Inquiry from submitting it report to the state Government.

s well to prevent the state Government from implementing the report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Alakyo killings and other matters there connected with.


Only time shall tell whether the state Governor would temper justice with the report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry which will be submitted today
