Adamawa State Police Command today confirmed that it has recovered the dead bodies of the two mobile Policemen, who were reported missing following an attack by Fulani Herdsmen in Adamawa Communities located in Dema Local Government Area of the State.
The Policemen were among those who were drafted to stop Fulani Herdsmen revenge attack over the killing of 47 cattle which belong to them in the three communities of Kwayine, GidanDadi and Karlahi by farmers.
Speaking to newsmen on Monday, the Adamawa Police Command Public Relation’s Officer, Othman Abubakar stated that the policemen who lost their lives were drowned in a nearby river in an attempt to escape being attacked.
Abubakar said; “Fulani militia attacked the three villages and we lost three of our gallant MOPOL while two others that were missing have been found dead in a river where they were drowned in an attempt to escape.”
According to him, scores of the attackers were killed by the policemen at the scene of the attack.
