Gunmen last night gunned down Mr. Emmanuel Ador, a staff of the Federal College of Education, Obudu and made away with his Toyota Camry car.

Mr. Emmanuel Ador who is also a timber dealer in Obudu was said to have been assailed by the gunmen who shot him on the leg in front of the School of Midwifery, opposite, Girls Secondary School in Obudu town.
A resident of the area who spoke to crossriverwatch confirmed that “We heard gun shots and were very scared in our various homes. We thought it was cultist from the Federal College of Education who had started their rivalry again. We have just confirmed that someone was shot and he is dead but we are also hearing it was either a robbery case or a case of boy friend and girl friend”.

Crossriverwatch findings reveal two versions of the possible cause of the victim’s death. The Divisional Police Officer DPO of Obudu division told crossriverwatch on the phone that “It is too early to conclude on the cause of the boy’s death. We have arrested and are still interrogating his girl friend who called him to come and see her before he was attacked on his way.

“It could also be that his assailants were armed robbers who wanted to collect his car and in trying to resist, they then shot him because the shot was on the leg and he actually died from excessive bleeding. If they were just assassins, they will shoot him somewhere else and not his leg. We are making efforts to recover the vehicle, if we do that; it will give us additional clue”.
A family source told crossriverwatch that “The girl friend that is in detention now is someone’s wife. She is from Tsar and the husband too is from Tsar. Emma was having a relationship with her and this has caused a quarrel between him and the husband in the past. The husband of the lady even confronted him once and warned him to steer clear of his wife but I think there were still seeing so we suspect that those who assailed him may have been sent by the girl’s husband”.
