A district head has been reported killed and many persons sustained various degrees of injuries in a midnight attack carried out by suspected gunmen at Zamtung a border community between Plateau and Taraba states.
The coordinated attackers stormed the Zamtung village in Taraba neighbouring Plateau predominantly Tarok-speaking natives of the Bantu of central Africa when the natives were said to have gone to sleep.
However, they disclosed that the attack lasted for two hours as they were shooting sporadically and injured women and children as the major casualties in the mayhem.

According to an eyewitness, he could identify those attackers but urged the security personnel to conduct a thorough investigation and arrest them to prevent further breakdown of law and order in Kadarko district of Wase LGA.
He disclosed that one Sunday who is against the dastardly killing of the Tarok was killed in midnight raids when they targeted him.
The name of the community is Nzamtun village founded by Tarok people in Taraba state, as he added that Pekat is roughly 1.5k from Kadarko while traveling through Dami immediately after crossing river Bado they were besieged as they attacked them.

A Motorcycle was carted away by the attackers, they flee away when they discovered that Kadarko people were informed and are coming to help the Pekat community.
