The Independent National Electoral Commission in Nasarawa state in a move to ensure the conduct of free, fair and peaceful election is to engage the entire gubernatorial candidate in the state.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Uthman Abdulrahman Ajigagba said all the governorship candidates of the four political parties would be in attendance.
He averred that the gubernatorial candidates of the four political parties are Labaran Maku of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Others are Umar Aliyu Akwe of Zenith Labour Party, Engr.A.A Sule of the All Progressives Congress and David Ombugadu of the People’s Democratic Party respectively.
Dr.Uthman disclosed this during a one day workshop for Journalists organized by the “Centre For Humanitarian Dialogue with a theme “PEACEFUL ELECTIONS PROGRAMMING WORKSHOP WITH JOURNALISTS IN NASARAWA STATE.
The REC called on electorate in the state to utilized the opportunity accorded them to collect their Permanent Voters Card.
Uthman applauded Journalists in the state for the robust synergy between the Commission and the Fourth estate of the realm.
“Journalists would be noble through accurate reporting”.
The state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa state Council, Comrade Dogo Shamah assured the Commission of fair covering of election.
