A group, Grains Farmers Association of Nigeria, has called on the Federal Government to immediately remove Central Bank Governor,  Godwin Emefiele for continued forex fraud under his watch.

The call was contained in a statement signed by its President, Malam Jibril Tafida, a copy made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

Tafida was responding to reports of the alleged disbursement of $800m weekly to the cabal within and outside the Federal Government, while leaving the nation’s entire Bureau De Change operators with just $25million to survive.

The statement noted that it was unpatriotic of the apex governor to put himself at the beck and call of a Cabal, while subjecting the nation’s economy to forex fraud in the process.

The statement also reiterated “the crucial need to have the CBN Governor booted out immediately” as  “the only way to checkmate forex fraud and save the national economy from total collapse”.

It further described the involvement of a cabal from within and outside the government as “a tragedy for a fledgling economy such as ours”.

A reliable source had indicated that the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo’s office had to cut down on the questionable forex release from $800million to $500  move that gave the forex transaction a boost.

It could be recall that a former governor of Central Bank and now Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, had once raised the alarm how the bank was creating billionaires through “forex subsidies”.

The Monarch claimed that the previous administration of Goodluck Jonathan created billionaires through oil trading, while the current one was all about trading in foreign exchange.
