The National Secretary,

All Progressives Congress,

Caretaker/Extra ordinary Planing Committee,

Senator John James Apkabudehe, PhD,

National Secretariat,

Abuja.

Dear Sir,

APPEAL FOR THE VALIDATION OF HON. SULEIMAN YAHAYA-KWANDE’s LAWFUL VOTES AT PRIMARY ELECTION OF 1st FEBRUARY, 2022, INTO BASSA/JOS NORTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

1. As members, delegates and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), domiciled in Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, we herewith presents our complaints and appeal for the party’s just considerations.

2. You may recall that the National Secretariat of the party, through your good office has directed for the conduct of primary election to fill in the vacant seat of Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, in the forthcoming 26th February, 2022 general election.

3. We have keenly watched and observed the manner and desperation at which our hard built great party the, All Progressives Congress (APC), is been threatening with disintegration moves by some nonloyal and unpatriotic members of the party.

Sir, we submits as follows:

4. We are concerned that a party that stand to correct the ills in the country’s democratic bottlenecks, and even here in Plateau State, but our observations have proofed that worst things are happening and threatening the internal democracy of the APC.

5. We have observed that some desperate politicians, within the corridors of power, are hell bent on imposing an aspirant against the free will of party members including majority of delegates, at the primary election to fill in the vacant seat for Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency.

6. We also observed that while Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, a simultaneous two term member of the House of Representatives, been the most popular aspirant with all the potentialities of wining the general election, is been subverted by the powers that be in the state.

7. We cared to reflect that Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, has on the 1st February, primary election, won with 345 votes despite the illegal nullification of his 4 other votes, but the electoral committee went ahead to declared the election inconclusive.

8. It is also necessary to stress that while Hon. Kwande has pending appeal at the National Secretariat of the party, the State organ of the party unilaterally organised a kangaroo rerun election, as against article 13.4 (xiv), of the APC’s constitution.

9. We must also stress the fact that even at the kangaroo primary held at an event center in Jebu Bassa, delegates were not allowed to cast votes, as the former caretaker chairman of Jos North Local Area, Hon. Theresa Azi, was the ticking on the ballot paper, and gave it to hired non delegates to drop it into the ballot box.

Our stand.

1. It is our firm stand that the State organ has no any constitutional rights or powers to organised the purported rerun of the 4th February, 2022, hence the so called declaration that Hon. Abbey Aku, was the winner of the rerun is null and avoid.

Our prayers.

1. We urge true and progressive democrat to discard in it’s totality the rerun that’s purportedly led to the declaration of Abbey as our candidate in the 26th February, 2022 general bye-election.

2. We urge the National Secretariat of our party, through its appeal committee to have a recount of the votes casts at 1st/2nd February 2022 primary held at Lamonde Hotel, Jos, and credits all the duly cast votes in favour of Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande.

3. It is also our urge that the appeal committee will be just and declare Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, winner of the primary and flagg bearer that will win the general election, having won twice in 2011 under the DPP and in 2015 under the APC respectively.

While appealing that justice will be done for the overall progress of our party, we assured you of our esteem regards and loyalty to the party.

Signed:

Usman M. Hashim.

 Maikarfe J. Eremiah.

Haruna Ibrahim Hassan.
