The North-Central Alliance for Good Governance (NCAGG) has called on President Bola Tinubu to distance themselves from the former Governor of Kaduna State and his counterpart Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State. This is coming from the outrageous comments and utterances made by former governors against humanity capable of destabilizing the country into religious unrest.

In a statement made available to journalists signed by Comrade Nantok Bala Plateau State, Comrade Bene Samuel from Benue State, Comr. Abdullahi Gambo  from Niger State  and Comr. Saqi Bajara from FCT Abuja in Jos

Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna State has repeatedly insulted Christianity on several occasions saying that Christians will never rule Nigeria nor his State Kaduna. El-Rufai further says that President Tinubu shouldn’t appoint Christians into his cabinet bearing the moment when Sen. George Akume from Benue State was appointed as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Former governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong on the other hand said farmers in Plateau State also carry ak47 and their killing by Fulani herdsmen is balanced. Lalong also made a statement about resisting Plateau people when 38 people were gruesomely murdered by Fulani herdsmen in Yelwa Jos North LGA of Plateau State. Instead of Lalong standing for his people, he chooses the path of humiliation against the Plateau people.

As a group, we are calling on President Tinubu to distance self from such personalities. Taking into cognizance, both former governors Lalong and El-Rufai couldn’t deliver President Tinubu during the February Presidential Election. This is a clear indication that the Plateau and Kaduna people have rejected Lalong and El-Rufai’s styles of leadership.

While President Tinubu is making a frantic effort to close the gap between the two major religions in his administration, Gov El-Rufai of Kaduna State is destroying the good decisions.

Recently, former governor Simon Bako Lalong launched media attacks on Plateau State Elders, who visited the newly sworn-in Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume.  Lalong action is purely political witch-hunting, which shouldn’t be tolerated.

These two former governors shouldn’t be trusted in Tinubu’s administration.
