Govt. Of Imo At IIHS Ikeduru Hospital Officially Inaugurates American Cancer Treatment, Research

The Imo State Govt. under the outgoing administration of Gov.Rochas Okorocha, on Wed.20th 2019 officially inaugurated the American Cancer Treatment, Research Center and the grand opening ceremony of the Imo International Health Systems, IIHS,Ikeduru Hospital ( Ikeduru Hospital Campus).

 

The ceremony was honoured by the Imo State Gov.Rochas Okorocha, who was ably represented by the Secretary to the Govt.of Imo State, Sir.Mark Uchendu, who in his words, commended the Governor and the Rescue Mission Govt. for his passion towards saving lives through the building of the 27 General Hospitals in the 27 LGA’s of the state, which according to the SGI, if completed and fully equipped with medical equipment would drastically reduce high rate of sudden deaths in the state.

 

The Governor through the SGI disclosed that 10 General Hospitals out of the 27 Hospitals is on operation even as he revealed that a Committee has been set up by the govt.who would be incharge of their official commissioning commenced on or before the first week of the month of  April,2019.

 

Adding her voice, the Imo State Commissioner for Health, Dr.Mrs.Angela Uwakwem, expressed satisfaction with the level of medical health compliancy of the hospital in Ikeduru, and commended  Gov.Rochas and his Rescue Mission team for taking the health of Imo people as priority.

 

She said”We are have replaced the Health at your Door Step programme with another programme known as Primary Health Care Tender”.

 

Also speaking, the Medical Health Expect in charge of IIHS, Dr.Austin Agbahiwe,in his felicitation and vote of thanks, disclosed “we are running a 24/7 Services at the hospital. We provide a positive different approach to medical care and we ensure that people checkmate themselves on their health status periodically”.

 

Dr.Agbahiwe, therefore disclosed that the management of the institution have Commissioned and inaugurated as follows:” The Ikeduru Hospital Campus, American Cancer Treatment, Research Center and American Diagnostic Center”.

 

Meanwhile, earlier at the event, a welcome address and overview of the activities of the hospital in the past, present and future was rendered by the President/Chief Executive Officer, American Cancer Treatment, Research Centre, Dr.Aderonke Mordi, stated on the hospital modalities such as:”Concept, Plan and Vision”.

 

Highlight of the occasion was the guided tour of the premises and the facilities.
