The Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State has given the breakdown of the 2023 budget tagged, “new beginning “to address the infrastructural deficit, and human capital development to ensure that there’s transparency and accountability in handling the budget.
The major setback in revenue generation, IGR had to be corrected giving adequate attention to revamping the following hotels and business places, Jos Hotel, Tati Hotel, Plateau Hotel, Hill Station Hotel, and main Market Authority which received 1.5 billion.
However, Plateau State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in the “Time is Now” Administration of His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has presented a budget breakdown of N 314,855,148,553.00. (Three Hundred and Fourteen Billion, Eight Hundred and Fifty-Five Million, One Hundred and Forty-Eight Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty-Three Naira only to the public
The Commissioner of the Ministry, Honourable Chrysanthus Dawan while addressing the Press community at the Conference Hall of the Cabinets Office, State Secretariat, Jos, Friday said the “Budget of New Beginning” is aimed at laying a solid foundation for peace and prosperity of the State will be anchored on the Seven Point Policy Trust of the Green Cap of the Administration.
He adds that the intention and desire of the government is to address current security challenges of the State as well as the infrastructural and human capital development deficit within available resources.
He further stressed that it is ensured that government revenue is judiciously managed adding that the government has mandated all revenue-generating MDAs synergize and ensure that accountability and transparency are observed in all the process.
The budget consists of a Recurrent estimate of N 162, 325, 733, 561.00. representing 51.55% of the total budget size, and a Capital estimate of N152, 529, 414, 992,00 representing 48.44% of the total budget size
It would be recalled that the total budget size indicates an increase of N164, 903, 813, 962,00 only on the 2022 approved budget estimate.
