He called on plateau people to join hands and move the state forward in spite of the security challenges bedevilling the country
Governor Jonah David Jang has been declared the winner of Plateau Northern senatorial seat after scoring 273 to defeat former Nigerian Ambassador to Ukraine, Ibrahim Kasai who score 18 votes out of the 291 delegates that voted in the exercise ,
The PDP state Electoral chairman, Hon Barr. Olivia Dazyem announced the elections result which took place at treasure Inn , Rayfield Road .on Sunday .
She said, the Governor won Senatorial seat representing Plateau Senatorial District, on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Governor said “I am acting in tandem with advice from supporters, followers and political stakeholders in my constituency,” he said.
The Governor said that he was optimistic of clinching the PDP senatorial ticket in the state but would abide by any decision of the party.
Jang , who was accompanied by his supporters and family members , appealed to members of the party to give him the opportunity to serve the people.
He urged them to be loyal, promising that the party would ensure equity and fairness in its primaries.
Governor Jonah Jang after winning the primaries of the People Democratic Party for the senatorial seat , assured the people of Plateau state of commitment for progress of the state.
