Speaking to journalists after the visit, Governor Fintiri described the late President Buhari as a towering figure in Nigeria’s political history, lauding his enduring legacy of patriotism, integrity, and public service.
“President Buhari was a symbol of humility and accountability,” the Governor said. “His passing is a profound loss not only to his family but to the entire nation. His indelible contributions to Nigeria’s democratic journey will never be forgotten.”
Fintiri encouraged the Buhari family to bear the loss with strength and courage, while praying for divine mercy and eternal rest for the late President in Aljannah Firdaus.
The Governor and his delegation were received by Mahmoud Modi Halilu, younger brother to President Buhari’s widow, Aisha Buhari. Halilu expressed appreciation for the visit and the Governor’s words of comfort.
