Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Management Board of the Jimeta Modern Market.
With this directive, the Chairman and all board members have been relieved of their duties, effective immediately.
They have also been instructed to hand over all government properties and documents in their possession to the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, who will assume interim oversight of the market’s operations.
Governor Fintiri emphasized the need for continuity and stability within the market, directing the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to ensure a smooth transition.
“The Ministry of Commerce and Industry must now ensure a seamless transition and work diligently to maintain the market’s functionality,” the Governor said.
Governor Fintiri also underscored the importance of the Jimeta Modern Market to the state’s economy, calling on relevant authorities to place the welfare of traders and stakeholders at the forefront of their efforts.
“The market’s success is crucial to the state’s economic well-being, and we expect the ministry to take all necessary steps to ensure its optimal operation,” he added.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for commerce and sustainable economic growth across Adamawa State.
