Through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor described the tragedy as painful, unfortunate, and avoidable.
He lamented the persistence of fuel scooping from fallen tankers despite repeated warnings, urging residents to prioritise safety above economic hardship. Governor Bago prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls and a speedy recovery for those injured.
