Governor Al-Makura Commends Nigeria Army For Defeating Boko Haram

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has commended the Nigeria Army under the leadership of Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Burutai for defeating the hydra headed insurgent group, Book Haram terrorist terrorizing northeastern Nigeria.

Al-Makura hinted this shortly when the Chief of Army Staff visit Nasarawa State after the kick-start of operation “Cat race” at Guma Local Government of Benue State.

Describing Book Haram sect as enemies of progress, he averred that Nigeria Airforce would launch air surveillance in the trouble communities of the State.

The Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura donated N200m for onward development of Doma Army Barrack.

He expressed happiness over the building of “Forward Operation Base” at Doma Barrack.

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura thanked Muhammadu Buhari for the urgent steps taking to curb Fulani/Farmers clash.

The Chief of Army Staff in his response said exercise IM Apatuma was not targeted at humiliating certain groups or tribes but rather to forestall peace in the country.

He says more troops of soldiers from Guard Brigade will be deployed to quell the situation.

Burutai affirmed that operation “Cat race” would last for 6 weeks.

He appreciated Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for donating a whooping N200m for strengthening and expanding Doma Barrack.

“This not the first of its kind, he once donate N100m to us”, and promised that the money would be judiciously spend on what it was meant for.

The Chief of Army Staff thanked the Governor for condoling him over the demise of his father.

Tukur Burutai was expected to commission a maternity in Akun in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government of the State
