The Imo State Governor, Sen.Hope Uzodinma, was on last Friday,Dec.17th 2021, happily presented the sum of N381 Bllion to the 27 Imo State House of Assembly.
The Government of Shared Prosperity led by Governor Hope, who was undistracted by the various security challenges that confronted Imo State have held several engagements with some cross sections of Imolites (critical stakeholders, youths and women) in Town Hall Meetings in the 27 LGAs of the state, during which the people presented their requests and demands.
Having developed a roadmap from the outcome of all the Town Hall Meetings held in the state, Governor Uzodinma who has captured the demands of the masses has therefore made the 2022 Budget Estimate as presented and was tagged as ‘The People’s Budget” to the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) for consideration and appropriation.
A breakdown of the Budget Estimate proposed a Capital Expenditure of N284.7b which represents 74.6% of the total Budget.
This is a clear declaration of State of Emergency on infrastructural development across the State within the year 2022.
This historic act of Governor Hope Uzodimma has spoken volume of his administration’s resolve to extending governance to the grassroots by considering their demands in the 2022 Budget Estimate.
It could be recalled that the Governor had announced the re-establishment of the Development Centers with the inclusion of Town Union’s President Generals as members – a first of its kind that integrates the people into governance.
With the budget presented inline with the demands of the people, the Imo State of our dream has arrived therefore, it is pertinent on the citizens to support the Shared Prosperity administration in the development of Imo State as a beautiful and a wonderful state.
