Gov Sule Pledges Partnership With Board Of North Central Development Commission

As Minister of Regional Development, Engineer Abubakar Momoh inaugurated the Boards of North Central Development Commission, South South, and the South West Development Commissions in Abuja Thursday, The Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi  Sule who doubles as the Chairman North Central Zone Governors Forum has reinstated commitment to ensure effective partnership with the newly inaugurated Board of North Central Development Commission.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Labaran Shu’aibu Magaji, Governor Sule appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the creation of the regional development commissions and congratulated the appointees for the successful inauguration  wishing them a successful tenure of office.

“On behalf of H E Engineer Abdullahi A Sule I wish to state here that as part of the commitment to ensure smooth take off of the commission, we have provided a befitting office accommodation in Lafia the Headquarters of the NCDC ” said Magaji.

Barr Labaran Shu’aibu Magaji who was accompanied by a high powered delegation comprising the state Accountant General Rt Hon Musa Ahmed Tinubu, Nasarawa State APC Chairman Dr Aliyu Bello and the Permanent Secretary political Affairs SSG office Abubakar Mai Sudan.

He further called on other member State Governments to support the initiative in the interest of development of the zone.

In his post inaugural speech Hon Minister of Regional Development Engineer Abubakar Momoh said the aims of creating the regional development commissions by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was, among other things, promoting fairness, equity, balance,, and grassroots development in line with the renewed hope agenda.

Engineer Momoh particularly tasked the NCDC Board to work towards ensuring effective agricultural and mining development, just as he warned them to stay away from corruption,, especially in the award of contracts.

In her goodwill message, Hon Minister of Women’s Affairs Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim commended Mr President, for giving women a fair share of representation on the boards, even as she advocated for more.

In his acceptance speech as Chairman of the NCDC Board, Cosmos T Akyhir assured that they are ready for the job.

There were also goodwill messages by the representative of the Speaker House of Representatives, Senator Ita Enang among other dignitaries.

Highlights of the event were the official inauguration of the Boards of North Central Development Commission,South South and South South West Development Commissions by the Minister of Regional Development, Engineer Abubakar Momoh, through the director legal services of the Ministry.

Nasarawa  state was represented in the NCDC board by a former Commissioner of women affairs Hajiya Aishatu Rufai Ibrahim, as Executive Director,  Dauda Shu’aibu Kigbu Mni as a Member, while Mr Tsenyil Cyril Yilwatsen from Plateau State is the Managing Director.
