Gov. Peter Obi Was Given N8bn By Federal Government To Rig Me Out – Ngige

The candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the just concluded Anambra State Gubernatorial election Senator Chris Ngige voiced out yesterday in Owerri alleging that the Federal Government gave Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi N8 billion to rig him out of the election.

According to Ngige he said that money was given under the fascia of ecological fund by the Federal government, which he said was apparently to make sure that All Progressives Congress was rigged out in the Governorship election in order to make way for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate victory.
Ngige also said that aside the N8 billion, that the State Governor Peter Obi spent N4 billion of the state resources to help his anointed candidate to prosecute the election.
The APC Candidate made this known  during the the Southeast APC leaders meeting In Owerri , adding that in a bid to get victory at all cost, the Federal Government gave direction to security agents to clampdown on APC members during the election.
Ngige said ; “even the Army and the Police were obviously biased against the APC. They were arresting every vehicle with the APC logo. Some of our members were arrested in Enugu, Ebonyi and Imo states just to stop them, not even members of the National Youth Service Corps were spared.”
While also speaking at the parley Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, former  Governor of old Abia State, said; “The Federal Government was afraid of the party and they ensured that APC came out third to stop us from going to the tribunal but we have disappointed them and we will continue until the election is cancelled.”
 “In the history of Nigerian politics, there has never been an opposition party as strong as the APC. We have 16 governors already and many more are joining. I can tell you that by 2015 the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will be the opposition party.”
The meeting in its communique issued the party said;  “ we have met and agreed that contact committee be set  up under the chairmanship of Dr Ogbonnaya Onu with Governor Rochas Okorocha as a member to reach out to people in the zone.
“To recover the party’s mandate in Anambra State through all legal means and ensure that Senator Ngige becomes the Governor of Anambra State. The leadership of the party in the zone will hoist the party in all the five states. The leaders in the zone congratulated the G5 Governors who joined APC.”

The leaders also congratulated Okorocha over his emergence as the first Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
