An All Progressive Congress Chieftain in Plateau state, Hon Te’el Stephen Dashe has said, the defection of Governor of Godwin Obaseki to the People Democratic Party, PDP, is a serious setback to APC family because of the number of party loyalists who are  going to follow him to his new party.

Dashe disclosed this during an interview with this medium.

Obaseki leaving the party especially at this crucial period will spell doom to the victory of APC in Edo state considering the people who’re still loyal to him.

.

Te’el Stephen commended President Muhammadu Buhari for dissolution of the party exco at the national level by constituting a caretaker committee that supervised the affairs until an election is conducted.

He said the national exco is gradually becoming a threat to democracy, and Mr. President’s action was in the right direction to reposition the party ahead 2023 election.

According to him. “I feel is a welcome development when people overstay their welcome in office then you should expect unnecessary abuse of power because power corrupts absolute power corrupts absolutely “.

However, Stephen Dashe emphasized that how the formation of the APC to grab power in 2015 happened that so many political parties came together and form the APC with diverse interests and now we should expect internal wrangling.

He charged politicians in Nigeria, not to over hit the politics, we should work together toward promoting the tenet of democracy.

Dashe said I’m not afraid of the forthcoming bye-election in Plateau southern senatorial seat as a leading aspirant who has grassroots support acres the LGAs.

” You would recall that the former Governor  Adams Oshiomhole, a replacement was a credible move but the stakeholders should have ensured that the crises did not escalate to the present situation,” he added.
