His letter of resignation, addressed to the Chairman Kurungbou Ward B, Federal Ward Shendam LGA, Plateau State and a copy obtained by African Drum, read in part, “The above subject matter, headed, letter of resignation refers. TURNING POINT IN MY POLITICAL JOURNEY

My dear friends, brothers and political associates, I hope this letter meets you in good stead, especially on a day like this when the showers of heaven are pouring down on us with blessings from the Almighty.

I have decided to write to you using this medium in order to reach all who have been a family to me and have given me the needed support in the course of my political journey as well as the general public so that no one is left in the dark about my decision at this turning point in my political career.

You will agree with me that my foray into politics, where I pitched my tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC)as one of it’s strethening members and served in various positions, including being the State Coordinator for the Buhari/Osinbajo campaign in 2015 have had its high and low moments.

But as we brace up for the 2023 general elections, I wish to state that I no longer wish to continue on the platform of the APC any more as I wish to free myself from the entanglements of the banner which has of late offered me and majority of NIgerians no hope, but more reasons to feel concerned than proud belonging to its fold.

Apart from the fact that the party did not  adhere to its guiding principles, it has sadly enough, retrogressed into a platform with the biggest moral decadence owing to its insensitivity to the sensibilities of a large portion of this country.

Within a short while, we have witnessed how the party has thrown all caution to the winds by leaning only towards serving a particular faith, parochial interest and appears desperate to overreach itself in muscling those  who reject those subjective policies without compunction

As if that is not enough, we are made to endure scathing insults through the policies and misguided  utterances of some leaders of the APC.

All these are clearly in breach of the principles of fairness, equity and justice which forms a major plank of the APC and have become too glaring that no reasonable or fair-minded person would associate with in my view.

I went into politics with the desire to serve my people through ensuring they’re carried along in government policies and programmes and once this cannot be guaranteed through the political platform I belong, I have no reason cavorting with the apparatchiks of such unfair mindsets.

I am therefore happy to announce that I’m done with the APC as a political party as it has shown that it is not capable of addressing injustice let alone being fair and just to all.

I will however continue to remain true to my friends and associates regardless of political persuasions.

Thank you all and do have a great day.

 God bless Nigeria.

Alexander Yolah Kwapnoe.
