  • Calls on graduates of COE, Sagbama not to protest

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has given hopes to all graduates of the State College of Education, Sagbama, who were planning a protest over non-issuance of certificates to them after years of graduation.

He has told them to shelve the protest as the state government has waded into the matter.

“I am aware that the school has graduated students without accreditation over the years. I am also aware that those students that have graduated without accreditation are threatening to protest.

“Let me tell you that there is hope coming on your ways. We lack teachers in our primary and secondary schools and we cannot afford to have graduated teachers up to seven sets and this teachers are roaming about the streets and not been useful to themselves and the society that have trained them.

” So, we will look into that matter. So, please rescind what ever decision you have taken to protest, protest is not actually the solution. Let us look at amicable ways of resolving the major issues.”

  • Gov. Diri, was appealing to the COE, Sagbama graduates while addressing the issue of accreditation that has lasted for years.
